The Iranian American Republican Council (IARC) commends the recent actions taken by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to intensify sanctions against the Iranian regime. On March 13, 2025, the Treasury announced sanctions targeting Iran's Oil Minister, Mohsen Paknejad, and entities involved in clandestine oil shipments, particularly to the People's Republic of China (PRC).
These measures are a continuation of President Donald Trump's reinstated "maximum pressure" campaign, aiming to curtail Iran's oil exports to zero and deny the regime resources that could fund destabilizing activities and nuclear ambitions.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent emphasized that the Iranian regime exploits its vast oil resources to advance its narrow, alarming self-interests at the expense of the Iranian people.
The IARC fully supports these decisive actions, recognizing them as essential steps toward promoting global security and supporting the Iranian people's aspirations for a democratic and peaceful nation.
